THE REFUGE Youth Ministry

High school sweethearts John & Jennie Coleman have been married for 26 years, and have 3 great but very different children. 

God birthed The Refuge in late 2016. Our goal is to instill the word of God into each of them. All while talking with them about the struggles they have in this world we live in. We use scripture to pick each of them up, while talking about their individual struggles. Our trademark is our “Oak Tree”. This symbolizes when one in our group is down or having a hard time, we have each other's back and will hold them up. We learn from them as much as we are teaching them! 

In 2018, we had a vision to start a youth praise team, The Messengers. Hearing the youth sing for the Lord is such a blessing. Our youth have such a heart for the Lord and it shines forth in all that we do. They are always eager to welcome any newcomers, never exclusive or 'cliquey'. We love all, as Christ loves us! Our youth is very near and dear to our hearts.
